NAMI Family-to-Family is a 12-session educational program for family, significant others, and friends of adults (18+) who are living with a mental health diagnosis. The course provides critical information and strategies for supporting the person you love, as well as communication and problem solving skills, family advocacy, caring for yourself and other family members, and much more!
Qualifications for Teacher Training: (1) Must be a family member/significant other of an adult (18+) who has a mental health diagnosis. (2) Although preferred, it is not mandatory that you are a graduate of the NAMI Family-to-Family class. (3) Willingness to attend the 3-day mandatory teacher training. (4) Candidates will adhere to the NAMI program guidelines of confidentiality. (5) Must be a NAMI member prior to beginning training.
Training Location & Times: The State College Training will last three days and the schedule is as follows: Friday, 1:30 pm to 8:00 pm (dinner provided). Saturday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm (lunch provided). Sunday, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm (lunch provided). The training will take place at the Hampton Inn & Suites State College at Williamsburg Square, 1955 Waddle Road, State College PA 16803.
Lodging and Travel Information: Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses. Rooms will be provided at block rate of $119 at the Hampton Inn & Suites State College at Williamsburg Square, 1955 Waddle Road, State College PA 16803.
