The next NAMI Family-to-Family Teacher Training will take place Sept. 7-9 in Altoona, PA.
NAMI Family-to-Family is a 12-session educational program for family, significant others, and friends of adults (18+) who are living with a mental health diagnosis. The course provides critical information and strategies for supporting the person you love, as well as communication and problem-solving skills, family advocacy, caring for yourself and other family members, and much more.
Qualifications for Teacher Training: (1) Must be a family member/significant other of an adult (18+) who has a mental health diagnosis. (2) Although preferred, it is not mandatory that you are a graduate of the NAMI Family-to-Family class. (3) Willingness to attend the 3-day mandatory teacher training. (4) Candidates will adhere to the NAMI program guidelines of confidentiality.
All training materials, snacks, lunch and dinner on Friday, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday are included.
Lodging and Travel: Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses. Hotel information for Altoona training: Rooms must be booked by Aug. 18 for the group rate of $114 per night (two nights, Sept. 7 & 8).
