NAMI Family Support Group is a free, peer-led, confidential support group for family members, caregivers, and loved ones of individuals living with mental illness. NAMI’s Support Groups are unique because they follow a structured model, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to be heard and participate. NAMI Family Support Group Facilitators are trained peers (family members) who have lived experience.

Qualifications for Facilitator Training: (1) Must be a family member/significant other/close friend of an individual who is living with a mental health diagnosis. (2) Willingness to participate in mandatory 2-day training. (3) Must be a NAMI member or become a member prior to training. (4) Willingness to maintain fidelity of the NAMI Family Support Group model and maintain participant confidentiality.

Training Location and Times:  The Pittsburgh Training will last two days and the schedule is as follows: Saturday, September 21, 9:00am to 4:30pm and Sunday, September 22, 9:00am to 4:30pm. The training will take place at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, 777 Aten Road, Coraopolis, PA, 15108.

Lodging and Travel Information: Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses. A block rate ($115 plus tax) is available at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott. You may book your room through the online reservation link.  Last day to book your room at this rate is Monday, September 5.

To train to be a NAMI Family Support Group Facilitator, please download and complete a NAMI Family Support Group Facilitator training application.  Send completed application to scaban@namikeystonepa.org. The deadline to submit the application is Monday, September 16.
