NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups is a peer-based, mutual support group program for any adult (18+) living with a mental illness. Connection groups are led by two trained facilitators who are in recovery themselves and are at a point where they want to “give back to others” by offering encouragement and support through their own experiences.
Qualifications for Facilitator Training: (1) Must be an individual with a mental health diagnosis who identifies themselves in recovery. (2) Must be willing to commit to co-leading a support group twice a month. (3) Candidates will adhere to the NAMI program guidelines of confidentiality. (4) Must be a NAMI member or become a member prior to training.
Training Location, Date, and Time: The Pittsburgh Training is two days and the schedule is as follows: Saturday, October 19, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm and Sunday, October 20, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. The training will take place at the NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania Office, 105 Braunlich Drive, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15237-3351.
