On Sunday, October 1, 2017, thousands of supporters packed the Waterfront in Homestead for the 11th annual NAMIWalks. We had beautiful weather and a great turnout. WTAE-TV News Anchor Michelle Wright emceed the event that included face painting, balloon and caricature artists, and a raffle drawing.
This year’s Walk raised $157,872. While thousands of people walked the actual trail, another 1140 people participated online by making a donation.
“We had one of our most successful Walks ever,” said Sara Levine Steinberg, NAMIWalks Manager. “We had 37 sponsors, which is our largest number to date and there were a lot of new faces, which is always a great sign.”
