PA Insurance Commissioner Sends Sen. Toomey a Letter Asking Him to Protect Progress Made Since ACA

On Tuesday, June 13, 2017, Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Teresa Miller sent Sen. Pat Toomey a letter urging him to protect the progress that has been made since the Affordable Care Act was passed. The U.S. Senate has created a working group of 13 senators, including Sen. Toomey, to draft the Senate’s version of health care reform.

In May 2017, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that, under the AHCA, 23 million Americans will lose coverage for mental health care by 2026, including 14 million people who will no longer be covered by Medicaid.
